With lots of inventory on the market, it can be hard to find a good mountain bike. Department stores have a ton of bikes for sale, but they are usually entry level bikes that don’t last a long time. It’s best to do your research on mountain bikes before you go to the store to look. Today’s we’ll be reviewing the Diamondback 2013 Response. • To start with, the bike is extremely easy to shift. This is key if you are going to be using this bike for off road activities. As you probably know, not being able to shift properly off road can lead to some pretty bad accidents. Also, the alloy linear brakes mean that you’ll be able to stop at a moments notice. It you’re going down an especially bumpy road or a steep hill, being able to stop on a dime is key and this bike delivers

  • The handlebar and seat are also sturdy, allowing for long rides. The handlebar won’t rattle during bumpy rides like other bikes. The wheels have quick releases and are able to handle difficult terrains. Something that makes this bike standout is the fact that the front and back wheels both have different tread patterns. This allows each tire to better grip the surface. For reference, most bikes have the same tread patterns for both front and back wheels.

  • Finally, the bike comes it at a great price point. This bike is available for as little as three hundred dollars on Amazon. Sure, you could get a cheaper bike at Wal-Mart, but it’s not going to stand the test of time like this bike. It truly is a bargain for the level of craftsmanship that was put into this bike.

  • Some people have complaints about the size of the pedals. While they will work well for people with normal sized feet, people with larger sized feet may have to upgrade the size of the pedals.

  • This bike doesn’t come preassembled. If you have never assembled a bike before, you might want to check with a local bike shop to see if they can assemble it for you. Some users have also had issues with the packing. If you set aside enough time though, you should be able to assemble the bike without problems.

Overall, users are very satisfied with the Diamondback 2013 Response. This bike is definitely a step up from a generic department store bike and provides a lot of value for the price. If you’re looking for a bike that you can ride around the neighborhood and take on rigorous expeditions, you should consider giving this bike a chance. Almost every user had something good to say about this bike and the negatives really aren’t that big of a deal. You can easily replace the pedals or seat if you find them to be uncomfortable.
